Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE) Training offers additional information to law enforcement officers on detecting impairment caused by more than just alcohol. Once an officer completes the training he/she will be more proficient with the 3 test battery of the SFST (HGN, WAT, OLS), as well as a broader knowledge of drug impairment indicators. Law enforcement officers will also be more familiar with the Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) program and its function. This course is approved for 16 APOSTC CEU hours.  PREREQUISITES: Students who attend this course should have completed the Basic DUI Enforcement and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) training curriculum and be able to complete a proficiency exam of the SFST and identify all validated clues on the first day of training. Students must be full-time APOST-certified law enforcement officers.
