About the Event
The cost is $250 per student
The course is 40+ hours to teach law enforcement officers the basic skills needed to be a police sniper/designated marksman. In addition to marksmanship, it will cover Fundamentals, Rifle and Ammunition considerations, Maintaining Data Books, and Intelligence gathering.
Applicants must have written approval from their Sheriff or Chief to attend this course and are APOST certified.
Equipment requirements are:
- Rifle, .308 or 5.56mm, and scope combo capable of 1” or less groups at 100 yards. ZEROED PRIOR TO CLASS
- 300 rounds of match ammunition for the rifle
- Backpack for gear
- Binoculars
- Cleaning kit for rifle
- Squeeze bags
- Utility/Tactical uniform, long sleeves, with cover
Recommended Equipment:
- Spotting scope
- Inclement weather attire
- Sunscreen
- Bug Spray
- Databook
- A method of hydration
Safety violations are dealt with swiftly. The student should be able to load, unload, and reload their firearm safely and comfortably.
