This 8-hour, tuition-free Multijurisdictional Counterdrug Training course will capitalize on the foundations of communication to identify potential confidential informants. Specific skills will provide a baseline for a deeper look into the practical application of identifying, cultivating, nurturing, deployment, and management of long-term informants for criminal investigations. The student will be provided instruction on how to identify potential sources, do's and don'ts of source development, recruitment, expectations, policy, procedure, case law, defense attorney tricks and tactics, timelines, and case studies in all the previously mentioned strategies. The goal of this course is to teach proven and reliable identification strategies for source development accompanied by strategies for long-term maximum possibilities.
