Deputy / Officer Update (6 - CEUs)

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Training Center will present a Deputy/Officer Update Course. The tuition for the course is FREE and includes all handout materials and refreshments. The course will begin at the Academy at 7:00 am and end at 2:00 pm.

This course is designed to provide 6 hours of C.E.U.s Deputies / Officers will also be given an opportunity to shoot their annual firearms re-qualification course as mandated by APOSTC.

The Communication Styles Course will be covered during this update. Some of the topics include:

· Behavioral Styles

· Understanding how behavioral style impacts communications

· Communication Styles using DISC

Students that will shoot the Annual Firearms Re-Qualification Course will need the following:

· Duty handgun (no single-action only weapons allowed) with reloading devices

· Duty leather gear (no cross-draw holsters or shoulder rigs)

· 150 rounds of duty ammunition (JCSO personnel – ammunition will be provided)

Appropriate range wear including a cap with a bill, eye protection, and ear protection

Appropriate inclement weather gear
