DESCRIPTION: This course provides instruction regarding the legal and technical uses of traffic RADAR & LIDAR systems. The course includes history, operations theory, applicable laws, and court decisions. The use and set up of handheld doppler and lidar units as well as visual estimations, court testimony, and practical field operations will all be covered in this course.
REQUIRED MATERIAL: All students are encouraged to bring their own RADAR with tuning forks or LIDAR devices. The student dress code is business casual. No shorts, sleeveless shirts, or open-toed shoes are permitted.
