The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office presents a Radar – Laser Operator Course
Course registration is open only to Midfield Police Officers Only.
DESCRIPTION: This course provides instruction regarding the legal and technical uses of traffic RADAR & LIDAR systems. The course includes history, operations theory, applicable laws, and court decisions. The use and set up of handheld doppler and lidar units as well as visual estimations, court testimony, and practical field operations will all be covered in this course.
REQUIRED MATERIAL: All students are encouraged to bring their own RADAR or LIDAR devices. The student dress code is business casual. No shorts, sleeveless shirts, or open-toed shoes are permitted.
Class hours: 0800-1700 hours
