About the Event
Upon successful completion of this program, the officer will have the knowledge of how to analyze case facts, evaluate the suspects behavior to determine truth or deception, conduct an interview using investigative and behavioral questions, and if need be, interrgate a suspect. The officer will have the knowledge of how to get a suspect to acknowledge the commission of the crime that they committed and to develop that admission into a legally acceptable confession for court.
YOU WILL LEARN HOW TO:
Interpret verbal and non-verbal behavior to assess the credibility of the information provided by the victim, witness or
suspect during the investigative interview
Use behavior provoking questions in the interview process
Use the Reid Nine steps of interrogation
Develop interrogation strategies
Develop themes (persuasive statements)
Develop the alternative question to elicit the first admission
