This 3-day course will enable the student to conduct patrol duties, respond to medical emergencies, recognize dangerous phrases, and effectively communicate with Spanish-only speaking citizens.

About the Event
This course will expose the student to a comprehensive approach to speaking with Spanish-only speakers. Speaking Spanish is vital in enforcing laws concerning Transnational Criminal Organizations. Within the scope of this training, students will be able to read, write, and speak Spanish in three verb tenses. Each student will be able to understand danger phrases, and weapon terminology, investigate assault, robbery, domestic violence, and drug investigations as well as suspect/victim identification. All students will have a working knowledge of Hispanic name composition and will be able to effectively run individuals through NCIC and their respective state crime information systems.
Prior knowledge of Spanish is NOT required and instructed by Detective Steve W. Gaenzle - retired.

Overview of Spanish Alphabet/vowels
Understanding numbers / Telling time in Spanish
Understanding singular/plural – masculine/feminine
